A Bit About Me!!

Hi!!! My name is Giovanna Marchese (pronounced Jo-vanna Mar-kay-zee). When my parents named me "Geeovanna" my Nonna sharply rebutted with "That's not how they say it in Italy!" And thus began the name confusion. You also can just call me Gi! I was born and raised in South Jersey (right outside of Philly) and have grown up with a very loving, supportive, and loud Italian family.

I fell in love with music and performing at a very early age. At my grandparents house I would run to their baby grand piano and bang on the keys. After seeing the joy it brought me to force my family to listen to the awful music I was making, my parents decided to put me in piano lessons. Several years down the line, I began taking voice lessons and then did my first musical production where I starred as a Jitterbug/Winkie in the Wizard of Oz in a church basement! From that moment I was hooked.

I attended Catholic University of America where I received my B.M. in Musical Theatre. While in school, I found my way back to my piano roots and started working as a dueling pianist for Howl at the Moon. In the year that I worked for them, I learned how to play Bass Guitar and Drums and added over 70 songs to my piano rep book. After graduating, I relocated and am currently based in Philadelphia but have aspirations to move to New York City very soon. I was recently seen in Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers, FL and will be returning to the show with Prather Productions this summer at the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Lancaster, PA.

When I'm not on stage you can find me socializing and hanging out with friends or family, escaping into a good book, updating my bullet journal calendar, practicing piano/writing music, or traveling and exploring new cities.   â€‹â€‹
